Year Two: BA2a

BA2a, my first unit for second year at NUA.

This project has been split up into two units, for the first unit we are looking at interactivity and looking at UE4 game engine. The end result of this unit is to create a prototype game. Also instead of using coding like C++, we are going to use the blueprints system within UE4.

For the first workshop, we were given some words to which we have to come up ideas for a game prototype.

One of my ideas from this workshop session, (Hair Bandits) which I am considering using for my prototype. But after the session and throughout the rest of the week, I used a random word generator to see what game ideas I could come up with.

Also in this session, we also began to look at UE4.

Aims for next week:

  • Explore ideas for game prototype
  • Settle on an idea for game prototype
  • Begin to look at UE4

Spitfire update

Spitfire update: After a few more hours, I have finished modeling my Spitfire model. I've added wheels to the model, as well as a glass effect on the cockpit's windows. I created this glass effect by assigning a new material on the cockpit's windows sections (in this case I chose the Phong material) and then I changed the tansparency of the material.

Now onto the UV mapping process!
