Along side my Victorian mental asylum chair I am currently working on, I have also been working on another model in Maya. For this model I have based it off the legendary Spitfire, specifically the Spitfire mk IX
Note: I have used Mental Ray for these renders, as it was easier to see the details on the model while I am working on it. I will use either High Qualitiy rendering or Viewport 2.0 render in Maya for the final piece
For these next three images of the model, I got the base shape of the main section of the Spitfire done first.
For these next two, I added a few more details. I also added in the cockpit, which I made in another scene first, then I imported it into the same scene as the main section of the Spitfire then merge them together.
Like I done with the cockpit, I made the exhaust of the Spitfire in another scene, then I imported it into the same scene with the main section of the Spitfire model, then merge the two together.
These last images are the latest renders of the model so far. There's still a fair bit to do to the model; I still need to do a few more bits on the top of the cockpit and add the wheels onto the Spitfire. Then after all that is completed, I shall move onto uv mapping and then lastly make the defuse, normal and spec map for the Spitfire.
